My students love instruments! They love to sing, dance, play, and learn. Ukuleles are an amazing tool for the kind of classroom music learning my students are so excited about. This project will provide my students with the instruments we need to make this learning happen!
Using the ukulele, my students will learn how to play an instrument and sing at the same time, learn about different musical structures such as chords and arpeggios, and explore the joys of learning to play a versatile stringed instrument that can enrich them musically for the rest of their lives. They are also extremely culturally appropriate. Unlike many other instruments students may have the opportunity to choose to learn during their educations Ukuleles are an instrument that my students recognize from their out of school lives and are excited to learn how to play.
