At Oak Grove Elementary we work hard to help kids feel welcome, safe and seen by establishing strong relationships and setting high expectations. A majority of our population receives free or reduced breakfast and lunch and come from families who are struggling to meet basic needs. We use trauma informed and restorative practices, social-emotional curriculum and have a mental health organization provide on-site counseling for students and families. Many of our teachers loop with a class for two years so that relationships built can continue and academic success can increase. Our staff is dedicated to championing our students and teaching them persistence, self-worth and the value of an education.
