Our students need a new lesson table as a space for social-emotional learning and social skills development activities. Our counseling office currently only has access to surplus student desks and an old table that is much too small for even small-group lessons. Social-emotional learning is an integral part of our day at the Brooks School, and our students need a space at which to join their friends to come together to learn about emotion management, friendship skills, social skills, conflict resolution, and other key life skills.
By donating to our project, you are helping our students to have a safe space for learning, play, and assessment, which helps to provide them with the most well-rounded educational experience that they deserve!
A space is also needed for students who are participating in standardized testing and testing for special education eligibility. Students must have a comfortable area that is appropriately-sized for them, where they can complete a variety of assessment-related activities to ensure they are being provided with the supports they need to be successful. A new lesson/activity table is just the space they need.
