I will help my students become more independent, and be positive members in our community. This project will help my students not only in school, but in life. Teaching students with profound and severe needs and helping them become more independent in our world is impactful in so many ways.
Our classroom does not have manipulative or fidget items which gives our students room to engage in reading, and communication skills.
Our current classroom does not have manipulative or fidget items which allow students to focus and aid them with their sensory processing disorders, as well as students who exhibit stress and anxiety.
Helping them achieve employable skills, as well as skills to help their families at home, makes the biggest difference to their parents and caregivers.
Students will learn about science, history, life skills, and employment skills. They will review the lessons in fun ways, by playing educational games with one another while guided and supervised by our special education staff. They will use their communication skills with other students by talking, taking turns, and dealing with outcomes without getting upset or going into a behavior.
