Most of my 6th grade music appreciation students have little to no experience with reading music or playing a wind instrument. Our staff is very much engaged in finding new ways to connect our subject matter to all our students in a creative and meaningful way. When I expressed to my students that we would be trying out instruments this year in a hands-on environment, I saw eyes light up! I knew then that my goal to teach them using instruments was the best way to harness their desire to learn!
