When I first stepped into my new classroom about a month ago, our nation's education gap became very evident. What I found was an empty shell of a room, the only things inside were 25 desks and chairs that differed in size and color, many of them dirty and unkempt.
My room lacked all of the resources that make a classroom a classroom; there were no books, no material, and no technology. This is when I started to better understand the realness of today's inequity.
In funding this project you will help my students, most of which live in poverty, gain access to an imperative tool that all 21st Century learners must use with ease. I am confident that my scholars will use the laptops as a tool for their own growth in the form of differentiated material, but they will also become advocates and share the wealth of knowledge they will gain with their families, friends, and community at large.
