Students work with an Occupational Therapist weekly in the classroom. Manipulating materials with their hands is a perfect way to build on fine motor skills. We strive to have as much fun as possible while building on our skills!
Using adaptive materials that are age appropriate is very important to us in the classroom. We want the students to have the same opportunities as their general education peers. By improving our sensory/manipulation centers our students will be able to rotate and work individually and/or in small groups. To do this, we need sensory dough, foam sensory paint, and messy mats. Students love to feel the different textures inbetween their fingers! This is also a great way to improve fine motor skills with our Occupational Therapist! We hope you are able to help our class grow! Anything helps!
