The art room is a place for my students to explore, create, build, question, and learn. Every day is an adventure with these kiddos. Our students live in a low socio-economic neighborhood, but have risen above their circumstances.
Despite the obstacles of poverty, they persevere, overcome, and constantly impress me. Art provides an outlet for my students to express themselves.
My students come into my room with a passion for art and a desire to learn.
Around 400 students visit the art room every week. Whether it is making masks with Pre-Kindergarten students or painting One-Point Perspective with 5th graders, there is always something interesting going on.
