Blended learning and personalized learning is used daily in my classroom. This means that students are working on a variety of activities including small group teacher-led lessons, partner or small group collaborative activities, and independent work often incorporating technology.
Setting up my classrooms with different seating options and learning areas will help to meet a diverse set of students' needs and improve student engagement.
The carpet shown will provide a comfortable area for students who prefer to sit on the floor while working independently or collaboratively with their peers. While I already have clipboards in my classroom, the portable lap desks will provide another option for students as they work on the carpeted area of my room.
I'm excited that this year I will have a horseshoe table to use for small group lessons. The whiteboard easel from this posting will enable visual modeling for both teacher-led and student- led lessons while working in this learning area of my room.
Lastly, the balance board will be an additional option for standing desk allowing those kinesthetic, active learners a way to move as they learn.
