Students from every grade level will create artwork to frame and display on the night of their music performance. In order to comply with COVID restrictions, the entire event will be held outdoors to allow for social distancing. The projects and performances align with the music and art curriculums to showcase what they have learned in their fine arts classes. We feel this will help to increase the relationships between the students, families, staff, and communities.
Our school community has suffered and continues to feel the weight of necessary COVID restrictions. Our hope is that by having an outdoor performance and art show, we eliminate some of those barriers. We can bring back a sense of community that has been lost because families are not allowed in the school buildings. We will also be bringing back a sense of ownership and pride to our students because they are creating and showcasing their art and talents to their families and the community. In addition, this will help bring back family support to the PTA.
Our anticipated outcome is to have families come out to see their child鈥檚 artwork and to enjoy their performance. We have not had a musical performance since February of 2020 or an art show since May 2019. Our goal is to bring our families back, in a safe manner, to engage in positive activities with their children, and reunite our school community as a whole.
Our success will be seen in the safe participation of families in our school's fine arts spectacular.
