With this project, we will obtain balance ball chairs as flexible seating to be used in our "Maker Space" along with the STEM sets that will encourage students to build and explore without limits. Our class will have the option to use the flexible seating while choosing, designing, and building using their imagination. This area will be available as a center as well as for early finishing students who have completed their work.
This will be a place without limits. Each student will be able to choose their building materials, make a plan, and execute their ideas. Students may work independently or with a partner to create their masterpieces. This area will inspire students to create and build different types of projects that they normally would not have access to. Students will be able to use the robot kits to design and build a maze to send the robots through. They will also be able to use the LEGO boards to build 3D projects right on the wall! This opens up the opportunity for different levels of creativity using LEGO blocks. We will use the magnetic block sets for building 3D shapes to go along with our math lessons as well as free building. All of the items in our project will be used to enhance the hands-on learning opportunities for my students.
