I am a Pre-K teacher at a small village school located in rural Alaska which is in a low-income/high poverty school community.
I have a class of 25 students whom are creative and full of life. Their enthusiasm astounds me everyday. However, my students face several challenges on a daily basis. As their teacher, I will continue to work hard to fulfill the vision of the school and expectations of the parents. Closing the achievement gap of my students is a concern I have and with the 21st Century being marked by technological advances, my students are hard wired for technology. This has changed my approach to teaching and the dynamics of how my students learn.
