My students come to me from a wide spectrum of circumstances. Parental involvement, for the most part, is limited, and my goal each and every day is to make sure they all know how loved and valuable they are. Our school district is a Title school, and many of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. As a fourth year teacher, I have learned how poverty can negatively (and positively) impact education. As fifth and sixth graders, my students are eager to learn but face difficulties each day. My students that have been in and out of foster care. These little people have seen things that most adults have only heard about. By nature, they want to succeed, and they deserve this opportunity. The town in which my school is located is made up of "haves" and "have-nots". All kiddos deserve the very best, and I am dedicated to making this happen to the very best of my ability! I love my job and feel so blessed!
