The materials I am requesting are some of the top tools of the trade for sewing and crafting. My goal for this project is to first lead my students through a self reflection and inventory about how much "waste" exists in their lives. We use products like paper napkins and plastic sandwich bags every day for their usefulness, most of which are quick and disposable.
What if we had a desire to use products that were not only sustainable, reusable, and created from scrap fabric, but that were also beautiful?
Students will design and create these products for their homes and hopefully for our school community to use and enjoy for years to come.
