These under-desk stationery peddlers provide students with the freedom to take charge of their individual learning/movement needs without disturbing the whole-class learning environment. Through the quiet engagement of large muscles involved in peddling students can release their extra energy and center their focus on educational tasks. Currently, my students who need to move are getting up and standing at the back of the classroom or taking quick walks in the hallway which takes them away from their learning. My students are working toward making the best choices for their own learning and do so most of the time. For these students, having the ability to move while learning will allow them to become more engaged in the learning process and get more work completed.
The products I have selected will help my students by giving them the option and freedom to move during lessons, collaborative work, independent work time, or even assessments without disrupting the rest of the class. The under-desk stationary peddlers are quiet and the tension can be adjusted for individual student needs. They are small enough to fit under student desks without adjustment and students actively take turns using the one peddler I have available. I have seen how this movement opportunity positively affects my students' work and their demeanor in class. I hope having more available for my students who need this movement will help all students reach their highest learning potentials in my classes.
