This year we will be using reading workshops in our class. This will give me the opportunity to work with small groups of students and provide them with more attention during this time. My students will use these materials to read in a more comfortable atmosphere. Being able to read in places other than at a desk will help them build their reading stamina and become better readers. By using the rug and pillows I can create areas where my students can lie down or prop themselves up to read. Because my students are ages 6-8, it is difficult for them to stay seated at a desk for long periods of time, I believe the wobble seats will help them by allowing movement even while seated. The teacher table will allow me to work with my students in small groups on the skills they need and that we are focusing on. I believe these materials will benefit them now and for years to come.
