I teach 22 wonderful, inquisitive, challenging second graders in a very small classroom at a Title 1 school. This means that the majority of the students at our school are on free breakfast and lunch. There is high poverty, a lack of parental support and involvement in our student's lives, high illiteracy, crime, drugs and violence. With all of this, I love working with my students. They are young and interested in learning. I see sparks and I want to ignite flames of curiosity in their hearts about learning.
