My students are getting ready for middle school by trying to be mature young men and women who attend an elementary school in East Harlem. They love to read and they are really excited that they have advanced in reading and moved to higher levels through their hard work. In order to progress they need exciting books at their level. My students are voracious readers who even reading up at 6th grade levels. Many of our families are unable to supply extra materials and we are always in need. As a teacher I feel the need to help my students to continue their passion of reading through out the summer. I would like to give them the gift of reading by giving each of my students their own book for the summer.
