I am a special education teacher in a K-8 school in beautiful Colorado! I work in a classroom which supports ability-level learning for students with mild, moderate and severe needs or medical disabilities. Too often students in the special education room receive hand-me-down curriculum and no supplies to support the hands-on manipulatives and foldables that students with special needs can use to break down difficult academic processes. These supplies allow us to create color-coded timelines, weave vocabulary books, express understanding through pictures and art, and break down writing into hamburger-themed outlines! These supplies help us communicate with non-verbal students through access to materials they can use to demonstrate mastery of skills in spite of communication barriers. Help us help kids with disabilities by donating to support my classroom and fellow special education teachers!
