We are a Title I school district. Not just one building falls in a low-income, poverty neighborhood, but all of our district. Our students are kind, bright, curious, ect... just like any other school district. Being low income, living in poverty settings, these are the things sets our students behind. In my opinion, behind in reading, vocab, social emotional skills, communication, and stable home lives. Many of our students come from one parent house holds, grandparent adoptions, or are currently in the system due to guardians being incarcerated. no matter how tuff there lives get, they still come to school...everyday! They fight thew the trauma to come and be the best student they can be. They disserve respect and understanding of all their unique differences. I can only hope I have set up that kind of environment for them.
