These resources will provide my students with a positive headstart by replacing many of the damaged or missing items in the classroom. Not mentioning the move to start my teaching career to a new state, I try to provide many resources out of pocket but being a new teacher, it can become overwhelming to bring in all that is needed.
These items will provide them with many hands-on learning opportunities through exploration in community helper jobs, letters and sounds, and science experiments to having a comfortable area to explore these items and storing them afterwards. I will not only be provided with a little storage organization, but at least 90% of my students should be able to benefit from some resource in this package.
The Listening Center will help strengthen my students' listening skills that will take them one step closer to deciphering sounds in their environment. The letters and beanbag activities will give them the opportunity to have hands-on contact with the letters that will make up the words we will be sounding out on a daily basis. We not only want them to be able to recognize things in a book sense but also be a well-rounded individual who will know about the things in their environment and how each thing affects one another. This is why I chose the Design and Build Water Blocks as well as the moon sand so they can manipulate and see how these elements can be used to build or even destroy.
The Circle Time Learning Center will be used during whole group activity time so we can see how much we know through all these experiences we have with numbers and letters found throughout our classroom.
