Scientists, mathematicians, writers, poets, authors, historians, my school strives to create authentic thinkers. I have the privilege of working at a school that creates authentic learning expeditions based on real life compelling topics. Students are problem solvers, not just listeners. Every day at school is purposeful for them and connected to a bigger picture and concept. Students demonstrate their learning in authentic products that fill a purpose or provide a service. Like all schools my classroom is filled with a variety of heights, colors, accents, languages, family backgrounds, interests, hobbies, loves and fears. Daily I face the challenge to meet their individual needs and learn more about them as individual learners.
