Our public school is in a high poverty area. School lockdowns due to neighborhood violence are not uncommon. We have many English Language Learners from Mexico to Yemen to Vietnam. Many parents do not speak English. Despite these challenges, the children are wonderful, cooperative and kind. Every day they impress me with their energy, resilience, and abilities.

About my class
