I teach students in kindergarten through the second grade. All of my have students have autism. All of my students are so amazing and inspiring! The way they learn to overcome their disability and thrive is quite amazing. Over half of my students are well above their grade level in academic subjects. My program is designed to give them a learning environment that allows them to excel despite their having autism. My classroom has low lights, is very quite, there are no distracting hangings on the wall and every child has their own schedule and learning area. The one area that I am not yet fully able to give to my students is a place to meet their sensory needs. If I were able to help them in all areas of their sensory needs there is no telling in how far they will be able to go!
