"You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink", but you might have a better chance of convincing him if there is a spectacular experience connected to it! Technology is changing the landscape of education. No longer is education limited to the confines of a classroom setting or to the resources available in the classroom or an online search. Students are learning in all settings - both literally and virtually. Extended Reality technology is bringing spectacular experiences to our students.
With Oculus Quest 2, my students will become immersed in education in a whole new way through virtual reality and augmented reality. VR and AR can open doors for students that may never be physically possible due to money, availability, and other travel limitations placed on them by COVID-19 and other things. My students will be able to experience real-life activities where they interact with content and translate their experience into data shared in documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases. They will not only be better prepared for future educational plans, but also for an ever-changing workplace.
