My students are bravely continuing to work through one of the toughest school years of their life! They are sweet students who have had to deal with doing school online, then returned to hybrid school for two days a week, and now finally completing their first full year of "traditional" school since 2019- Hurray!
My 3rd-5th graders need yoga mats to help encourage mindfulness and breathing tools while also providing a flexible seating option! Since their return, we have chosen to focus on their mental health FIRST! One way we have been working on this is by using deep breathing and calming down techniques. This has helped immensely as my students are still getting used to the swing of being back in school.
Sometimes their big emotions get to them as they are still dealing with so much during the pandemic. I would LOVE for them to be able to use a yoga mat to use calm down strategies and deep breathing as a part of our school day.
