The graphing calculators I'm asking about will help my students in their required learning objectives. The graphing calculator is an essential tool we use for 8th grade math because of the functions they learn about that a normal calculator cannot fully assist with.
Many of my students cannot afford to own their own, so having the calculators available for each student to check out to use for distance learning days is very important.
I currently have several old graphing calculators that are no longer in working condition, thus making it difficult for each student to have their own to work with. There are just not enough for each student to get an opportunity to have one for the entire class period, or be able to take home to use when it's needed. Many will have to share, making it harder to complete tasks in a timely manner. It also makes it difficult to explain how to use the calculators for specific functions during a lesson if it is necessary.
