A STEM approach in teaching allows students to apply learning that occurs in the traditional subject areas to real life problems.
STEM capitalizes on students’ interests and experiences, builds on what they know and have just learned, and provides them an opportunity to take changes and engage in learning in a different way. STEM is a hands-on approach to learning. It encourages students to converse, share ideas, discuss different possibilities, and use more advanced vocabulary. According to the Equality of Opportunity Project (EOP), innovation is a critical component of economic growth. Innovative thinkers are the movers and shakers that have the potential to change the world.
