My 6th graders are demonstrating substantial gaps in their math journey thus far. No doubt this is due to the interruptions we have experienced during this covid-19 pandemic. The many interruptions they have encountered, created a community of students who are the same age and grade level, but with a drastic difference in math skills.
I believe the best thing I could do to help my students succeed is to implement small group learning. It is increasingly apparent, I cannot reach all their learning needs in a whole group setting. With a small group table area, I can set a comfortable learning environment to better address each students' needs on a more personal level.
