During the last two years our students have been negatively impacted by Covid-19 and learning losses have been seen across the board. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to engage our students in learning and to help them fill those gaps caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Through STEM projects we can engage their problem-solving abilities as well as their creativity. The Lego blocks and plates included in this grant request would help to provide that creative outlet for my students. We will be using the Lego blocks and plates throughout the year during our Science class, we will build food webs, habitats, solar system models and moon, earth and sun models that directly correlate with our state science standards. Students wiThe Wild Robot novel would be used during our STEM Novel study, in which we read the book together and connect it to food webs, physical and behavioral adaptations and of course engineering and technology.
