Due to the pandemic, unfortunately, many of my students are behind in their academics. I am doing everything I can to catch them up so that they can be successful in fourth grade. With the help of these materials, I can provide multiple paths for them when learning a new skill. For example, we learn multiplication facts in third grade. The students will be able to build arrays with the help of the pop-it toys and push pops to help them solve a multiplication problem. We also use white boards every day in class to help check for understanding during the math lesson. My curent dry erase boards are very torn up and need replacing. I also have harsh fluorescent lighting in my classroom that is bothersome for some students. The light filters would help them out, and the kick bands will help my students that are constantly moving in their seats. I want to make sure I represent all cultures and backgrounds in my classroom, so I would love to have crayons in my classroom that represent each child's unique background. I also want to have activities in my class for my early finishers. I think that the magnetic tiles would be a good alternative for students to work with rather then having them always read a book when their work is finished. These materials would also provide an environment where students will feel safe, heard, and seen.
