My students have been forced to give up many activities due to COVID-19. This includes programs and performances. This project will allow me to properly space students out on stage or in class by giving each student their own music stand, rather than sharing with one or more students. Additionally, by adding a few guitars to my classroom set of existing instruments, more students will be able to learn music in fun and engaging ways.
Class sizes are not shrinking, resulting in a need for more materials to provide each student with a positive learning experience. I have a small class set of guitars, not even enough for half the class. By adding a few guitars each year, I will eventually have enough to meet the demands of our ever-growing class sizes.
