Our students have access to a wonderful variety of 2D mediums and tools, which allows them to make incredible paintings, drawing, prints, etc. Each year our students dominate competitions and express their individual personalities and voices through their artwork. However, there is a deficit in the tools we can offer to create 3-dimensional works of clay-based art because these tools are usually more expensive. We do not own an electric pottery wheel, but we do have clay and a kiln at our disposal. I feel it is a real disservice to not be able to offer the critically important way of making art to our students.
There is something special about working clay- it sparks the joy of our inner child, and it truly feels like therapeutic, creative play which is more important now than ever before for our kids. This pottery wheel is a high-quality product from a reputable brand. With a remarkably fair price tag for a wheel of its quality, it will endure the constant use of beginners and serve students for many years. This wheel WILL be a source of joy and therapy for my students and it would be an incredible opportunity for them to add a new strength and skill to their arsenal of artistic knowledge.
