Students working together through play helps build social emotional skills, conflict resolution and imagination. Many of our children are struggling in these areas since many of them have had limited interactions in their early childhood experiences. Having more resources in our classroom can help with open ended play opportunities. We currently do not have any kind of blocks other than scrap lumber I collected from a local cabinet shop. We also do not have any shelving to store blocks in. These items will greatly add to our classroom and expand on collaborative play.
