A change in routine is difficult for all of us, but for students with special needs, it can be difficult to understand and adapt with appropriate behavior. Providing students with an outlet to get the wiggles out and engage in activities that provide the sensory input they need helps them maintain appropriate classroom behavior that is so vital to all students learning in the classroom.
With your help, I hope to provide fun and engaging sensory walks, obstacle courses, indoor recess activities, and water/sand/rice table activities for what we like to call 鈥淔un Friday.鈥 It is a reward for working hard all week that mixes sensory, learning, and fun into one crazy classroom activity.
The play kit, tunnel, and mats will be for the sensory walk and indoor recess. The sand setting, bug sort, fishing set, and alphabet bubbles will be for the activity table which will provide sensory input and Edu-tenement for indoor recess.
