Since COVID-19, the past two years have been difficult. Students have been in-person, virtual learning, and some missing time in the face-to-face classroom. Many students have learning gaps and need additional help on the concepts related to 4th-grade mathematics. To help my students with these learning gaps, and help meet their educational needs, I am requesting multiple types of math manipulatives. Manipulatives help to engage students in the hands-on learning of mathematics. I plan to use manipulatives to introduce, practice, or remediate a concept. Also, students need to be able to integrate and connect a variety of concepts in many different ways, and I feel that the manipulatives I have chosen will meet the needs of the students. I want to promote their learning by bringing in these manipulatives and helping meet their educational needs. My students have shown a great interest in hands-on learning. Also, we use our laptops daily, the headphones will allow my students to focus more on what they are watching or listening to. The headphones will help eliminate distractions. Working at a Title 1 school, many families are not able to purchase supplies such as headphones. While we are virtual some of my students prefer to do assignments, projects, or fun activities on paper, so the printer will allow for my students to be able to print off anything they need to succeed. In the face of all the challenges the pandemic has put on my students, they are ambitious and ready to learn every day. I want them, as their teacher, to be prepared and understanding of the concepts that might be brought upon them and I think the materials in this project will do just that. I would love your help with this project, thank you!
