Having a hands-on STEM kit that students can use in our classroom will help make instruction more meaningful. Students have spent a lot more time at home in front of screens, so it is important for them to deepen their critical thinking skills by investigating with hands-on materials. The kit will allow students to build on current skills, question ideas, and find solutions all while working together practicing much needed citizenship skills.
Hands-on learning with STEM can be the classroom tool that lights the future paths of students. Questioning, investigating, and finding solutions while using this type of learning helps spark that interest for future coders, engineers, scientists, and others. My goal is to teach students, but teach them in a way that encourages growth and understanding. Empowering students to invest in their own learning can open a door full of possibilities.
