This color printer and art supplies will help each student reproduce their knowledge and research of the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma into a story telling poster.
Students can focus on one of the five native tribes that make up a huge part of our Oklahoma history, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, or Seminole and tell their specific story of coming to Indian Territory. They will be able to print pictures of the tribes and their treacherous travels directly in the classroom, and use the poster board and markers to make their stories/project beautiful and informative. Most students do not have a printer at home and thus this gives everyone equal resources.
My students are very conscientious of their work, but sometimes lack of resources prohibit them from performing the quality job that they themselves would like to achieve. I love their drive and self expectations and desire for them all to have the resources necessary to help ensure their successes.
