Many times when teaching students about Geography, it can be hard to fully immerse them into the different culture, language, and ways of life of others around the world. For each unit, we visit a different area in the world. We learn about the economics, society, agriculture, indigenous populations, and culture of individual countries. Oftentimes, students may never get the chance to experience these places up close. The option to have virtual field trips around the world, and even close to home would be invaluable to these students. When COVID-19 hit the world, the ability to even visit nearby cultural sites came to halt. With the VR capability of having an oculus in the classroom, they all get the chance to visit and immerse themselves in another culture.
