These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is extensive, shelving books spanning many different genres and favorite authors, most of which I have purchased out of my own pocket. I am determined for my students to have access to books on their grade level. I want them to get past any obstacles they may have and fall in love with reading as much as I have!
With these new classroom sets, all of my students will have their own copy to read and follow along with as the books are read to them through Audible. This will improve their fluency hearing the words read aloud with accuracy and expression.
Even in the midst of a Pandemic, students can read and improve critical thinking skills. At home or at school, students will enjoy these titles as they travel to new places and time periods.
These books have been carefully chosen as they will appeal to the multiple interests my students have. With the funding of this project, my students' experiences will further be enriched with the power of the printed word.
