Due to covid our students have missed out on so much hands-on, meaningful learning. Play has had to be put on the backburner to try and reduce the risk of spreading this disease. While I have modified my methods, changed lesson plans, continued teaching and doing what is best for students they have still missed out.
Play is the primary way children explore their surroundings. Engaging in purposeful play helps my students make discoveries about their surroundings and others, build knowledge, and experiment with their world. Students can learn and retain math, literacy, and social skills. Purposeful play helps students to self-regulate and interact with others in socially appropriate ways. These are some of the most important skills for students to learn at a young age in order to have continued academic and social learning success in the future. They are also the skills that they have not been able to learn with Covid restrictions
I would love to enhance and engage them in the most learning possible. With these items they will be able to use the dramatic play center, sensory able, and fine motor center for purposeful play.
