I plan to use the bulletin board as a "Quest Board" which will include assignments students can complete for extra credit/prizes. The recorders will be used for my music theory class for students to create their own harmonies and chords together, as well as my 5 grade music classes as their introduction to instruments. The piano is arguably the most important item on this list, as it will be used for ALL of my band classes to teach transposition, interval recognition, general music theory, harmony, and be used for my soloists who need an accompanist.
By donating to this band, you are supporting the development of a growing music program that is working to change the lives of students who deserve a robust education. All auxiliary percussion instruments will be used by the Advanced and Intermediate bands in increasingly complex musical arrangements. When not in use for this purpose, the equipment will be used to help my 5th Graders learn rhythm.
