These supplies will help foster my students' diverse needs. The books and supplies will continue to enhance the social emotional learning that I strive to create. My classroom is built on community and these books and fidgets will help teach skills that promote self awareness and coping skills. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind.
I have watched them struggle with regulation of emotions ever since the pandemic started and these tools will greatly help my students have references and tools to self regulate. Students will be able to choose books from the sets and fidgets to use, which help them continue to regulate independently. The best way to increase reading ability and social emotional skills is to read more and be exposed to multiple resources. My students have already shown an astonishing ability to adapt in this ever changing world. Providing them with more resources to do this in the safe environment of our classroom will hopefully ensure their success. This project will only help enrich their learning tool boxes.
