Due to construction, I am a first-year/ traveling teacher looking to build a classroom that will help my students advance their academic learning through alternative methods. My students have expressed to me that as a result of COVID-19, they are burnt out on online activities and have been too reliant upon technology to do their work for them. They want something different in this age of technology!
The requested resources will help my students advance their academic learning by allowing them to stray away from the standard practice of notes and online activities. My students will get to participate in exploratory group activities and projects that will not only allow them to get away from technology but also be in charge of their own learning! Further benefits include fostering a community with their classmates!
My students will primarily use these materials in groups and walk around the classroom engaging in different task stations on the whiteboards. These task stations will range from identifying parallel and perpendicular lines, graphing linear equations and inequalities, and creating graphs to support their answers.
