By the time students get to third grade, they are not just learning to read - they are reading to learn. However, reading should also be for fun! The books that have been selected in this project were chosen by my class. They are a diverse group of kids with many interests and each one of these titles will be perfect for every student. Everyone will have something to choose from!
Help make this dream come true for these third graders. They are learning to love reading, and with your help, they will have an excellent variety of books to do just that - fall in love with reading. The excitement they will feel from getting these books and being able to hold them in their hands will be electric. I just know they will love sharing them with each other!
Due to the ongoing pandemic, my students and I have been working hard to fill in those reading learning gaps, and these books will allow them to choose fun stories to read and practice those skills. When the pandemic first started, these students were just about to start the fourth nine weeks of their first grade year. Nine weeks may not sound like much, but in teaching terms - that is huge. I want to make sure that our classroom has a library full of wonderful books that they can pick up anytime they like. Reading is a huge part of school and life. These kids deserve the chance to be successful!
