Technology has become an integral part of teaching and learning in the music classroom in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and push for blended learning. In my classroom, I have been working to enhance the overall learning experience of my students by providing more opportunities for them to engage with music learning through a variety of technological resources.
I am requesting funding to support the purchase of a smart flatscreen TV so that I could connect my school provided device to the screen wirelessly and make it accessible for all students to see the technology from all areas of the classroom and provide more opportunities for my students to engage with music through technology.
This would allow me to move about the classroom wirelessly and engage with student learning via proximity as well as project videos and written musical examples to enhance the musical literacy of my students. It is important that all of my students with a variety of accessibility levels, including those with visual impairments, be able to see all learning materials without difficulty. My goal is for my students to have more opportunities to create musical projects using technology, and this presentation device would allow my students more access to present their projects as well as explore a variety of musical opportunities through technology.
