As a result of the pandemic, technology and virtual learning have become a constant in student鈥檚 lives. My 4th grade students use technology daily, however many of them see technology only in the forms of laptops and school work.
I want to maximize their learning, creativity, and curiosity surrounding technology in ways that they may not get otherwise. Through the use of coding, my students will get the chance to 3-D print amazing creations, such as interactive maps for Social Studies or engaging math problems. Coding will also grant my students the chance to experience robotics, using problem solving thinking and the engineering process. Also, since we use laptops daily, the headphones will allow my students to focus more on what they are watching/listening to and will limit distractions. All of these experiences will promote individualized learning and allow my students to be excited about the variety of ways technology can be used.
Despite the challenges the pandemic has put on my students the past 2 years, they are tenacious and ready to learn. I want them to be prepared as possible in an ever-increasing technology world, and I think my materials in this project will do just that!
