These materials will help my students by giving them fun, organized, exciting and comfortable spaces to read and write.
The Ready to Write Prompts and Let's Get Writing Flip Books are materials students can use at our Writer's Workspace. Writing prompts provide students a jumping off point to begin expressing themselves. The flip books are an interactive resource where students can build topics to write about. Both resources will engage reluctant writers to tell elaborate stories about themselves, develop characters from their imaginations, formulate opinions and learn to enjoy writing.
A bright and organized writing space will welcome students into creativity. Students will independently grab materials they need from the Table Top Paper Organizer. Each group will have their own Neon Rotating Caddie filled with pencils, erasers, highlighters and colorful gel pens to complete their writing task. When they've finished, students will place their work in the Turn-Your-Work-In Organizer. Staying organized will keep the Writer's Workspace functional and will also help me easily check student's completed work.
An organized and comfortable space to read will entice students to spend more time diving into stories and finding adventure! The Flex Space Floor Seats and Comfy Round Carpet will provide seating that is fun and flexible for students. Using the Connect and Store and Help Yourself Book Bins, I will organize our books by genre and level. Using the bins, students will be able to quickly find a book they are interested in.
These materials will make a huge difference in my student's reading and writing. The Writer's Workspace will be functional and exciting. Students will also be able to read texts that support their writing in a comfortable area.
