I have the privilege of teaching a group of students that are mostly Latin American and native Spanish speaking. As their English teacher, this provides me with a really special challenge to meet their academic needs as Juniors in high school while also refining their linguistic development as bilingual students. In light of pandemic, our school has started to move a lot of our English curriculum to an online site called Study Sync.
I often have to ask myself- " How do I efficiently teach the English language online without the proper technology to model and annotate?" The truth is that it is extremely difficult without the proper tools. Having an iPad with an Apple Pencil would give me the flexibility to model lessons for students one-on-one or to display the class-specific skills.
