My Extended Learning Opportunity will give 4th and 6th grade students a chance to build independence of their cooking and sewing skills. Cooking lessons give students the opportunity to prepare healthy meals while using important life skills such as math and reading comprehension.
Sewing projects will encourage student creativity and give them exposure to fun activities that does not require screen time. These two important courses will promote teamwork and joy because who doesn't love to eat home cooked meals and make handmade crafts?
Students will make friendship bracelets, sew stuffed animals, learn how to measure both food and fabric and critique each others meals and crafts!
